Dear Colleagues,

I will have met most of you over the last three years but if I have not my name is Dr Rav Seeruthun, as you can see above!! I have the privilege of representing you as your prospective parliamentary candidate in next years General Election. Why am I doing this?  It’s because Labour’s purpose is fairness: fair rules, fair chances and a fair say for everyone.

When I went to work on the Obama campaign in Florida in October 2008 I took my Labour membership card. At a Democratic rally I read to them what it says on the back of the card:

‘The Labour Party is a democratic socialist party. It believes that by the strength of our common endeavour we achieve more than we achieve alone, so as to create for each of us the means to realise our true potential and for all of us a community in which power, wealth and opportunity are in the hands of the many, not the few.’

Those democratic values have guided us through twelve years in government: everything from the record investment in public services, to the fine detail of the minimum wage, free museum entry and civil partnerships.

This year we will focus on campaigning both in Maidstone and in our twinned seat of Gillingham to help return MP Paul Clark. Please join us on the following dates:
